Text: Genesis 24:1

“And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things.” — Genesis 24:1 (KJV)

Every child of God has been created to live under the influence of divine blessings. God’s original intention was never for mankind to struggle endlessly but to flourish in every area of life. Genesis 24:1 presents Abraham as a man who had reached old age, yet the Bible records that “the Lord had blessed Abraham in all things.” His blessing was not limited to wealth alone; it included favour, influence, peace, family, and divine preservation. This reminds us that God’s desire is to bless His children completely.

The blessing point is the place where a person’s life aligns with God’s will and purpose. It is the atmosphere where obedience, righteousness, faith, and fellowship with God attract His supernatural favour. God’s blessings are not accidental; they are connected to our walk with Him. While God is merciful and always willing to restore those who return to Him, remaining in the place of obedience enables us to continually enjoy His blessings.

From the very beginning, God revealed His intention for mankind. In Genesis 1:28, He declared, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it.” Fruitfulness and multiplication are not merely physical concepts; they include spiritual growth, business expansion, career advancement, increased influence, and the fulfilment of divine purpose. Every believer has been called to increase, not diminish.

However, Psalm 1:1–6 teaches that the blessed person is one who refuses to walk in ungodly counsel, delights in God’s Word, and meditates on it day and night. Such a person is compared to a tree planted by rivers of water, producing fruit in season and prospering in all that he does. Whenever things begin to decline in our lives, businesses, ministries, or careers, one of the first questions we should ask ourselves is whether we are still standing at God’s blessing point. Sometimes the problem is not God’s unwillingness to bless but our gradual movement away from His principles.

Living at the blessing point requires practical commitment. First, cultivate a consistent prayer life. Prayer keeps our hearts connected to God and gives us the strength to overcome life’s distractions and temptations. Second, pursue holiness and righteous living. God’s blessings are sustained where His presence is honoured. Third, develop a lifestyle of thanksgiving. Gratitude acknowledges God as the source of every blessing and prepares the heart for greater increase. Finally, immerse yourself in the Scriptures. God’s Word renews our minds, strengthens our faith, and reveals the wisdom needed for success in every area of life.

A story is told of a man in London who surrendered his life to Christ. His pastor gave him a Bible, and to the pastor’s surprise, the man returned the next day saying he had finished reading the “mysterious book.” His hunger for God’s Word became the beginning of a transformed life. Likewise, if we truly desire lasting business and career breakthroughs, we must cultivate an insatiable appetite for God’s Word.

The blessing of God is not designed to be temporary or seasonal. He desires His children to enjoy consistent, lasting, and ever-increasing favour. As we remain at the blessing point through obedience, prayer, thanksgiving, and devotion to His Word, we position ourselves to experience God’s promise of fruitfulness, multiplication, and enduring success in every area of our lives. May we remain planted where God’s blessings continually flow, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
